Resident Evil Showcase: All the Resident Evil games, updates, announcements by Capcom

Resident Evil showcase held by Capcom gave a closer, detailed look at the highly-anticipated Resident Evil 4 remake. Set for a release in March next year, Capcom revealed story trailer and extended gameplay. There were several Resident Evil announcements including the winter expansion for Resident Evil Village. It’s set to arrive in a week and Capcom revealed more about what’s to come. Check out all the Resident Evil updates and news from the showcase by Capcom right here.

Resident Evil Village Shadows of Rose DLC

Capcom started the showcase with a new trailer for Resident Evil Village DLC expansion. It will feature a new story with Ethan’s daughter, Rose, as the protagonist. Developers have already revealed that the expansion will effectively complete the Winters story arc. Resident Evil Village Shadows of Rose DLC will be available separately but also comes imcluded in the Resident Evil Village Gold Edition. 

Gold Edition will arrive with a new third-person mode for the main story as well as added content for the Mercenaries mode. Players will get to play as Lady Dimitrescu as well but don’t expect her to be as tall as she originally was in the campaign, as revealed by the developers. 

Resident Evil Village Shadows of Rose DLC and Gold Edition will be released on October 28.

Resident Evil Re:Verse 

Resident Evil Re:Verse is also arriving on October 28. All owners of Resident Evil Village or Resident Evil Village Gold Edition will get free access to the multiplayer shooter mode. Capcom announced that Resident Evil Re:Verse will support crossplay and new gameplay footage was displayed during the showcase, including various characters from Village, map locations and weapons. 

There was also a roadmap of content shown as Capcom announced its plans to regularly update this multiplayer shooter game. Early Access to Resident Evil Re:Verse starts on October 24 for all those who own Resident Evil Village. 

Resident Evil Village on Apple Mac and Nintendo Switch

It was earlier announced that cloud versions of various Resident Evil games are headed to Nintendo Switch. Capcom now announced at the Resident Evil Showcase the release date for Resident Evil Village, RE7, RE2 Remake, and RE3 Remake. Nintendo players can check out the demo for all these games so as to try out how these perform when streamed through their internet connection. 

Resident Evil 2 Remake’s cloud version releases on November 11. RE3 remake will be released on November 18 while RE7 arrives on December 16. 

Apple users have something to be excited as well with Resident Evil Village heading to Macbook on October 28. Release date for the Winters’ Expansion DLC was not announced but it will be coming later on.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

Capcom showed Resident Evil 4 Remake extended gameplay which featured the famous opening scene of RE4. There was also a new story trailer revealed featuring Ada, Ashley as well as iconic moments from the original game including the lake fight.

Players can now pre-order Resident Evil 4 Remake on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Capcom also announced that players who buy the game on PS4 will get to upgrade to PS5 for free. Resident Evil 4 Remake releases on March 24, 2023.
