Sony has revealed several important things around its much-anticipated gaming console, the PlayStation 5. These details include information around its new PlayStation Plus collection, the games on the service in November, and more. We also saw that the company shared a new launch ad in its partnership with Travis Scott. In addition to the new ad, the company also revealed the redesign of the companion app for Android and iOS. The redesigned app will work with PlayStation 5 to offer a seamless experience. Let’s check out everything we know around the PlayStation Plus collection on PS5, the new ad, and the redesigned app.
Sony PlayStation Plus collection, new launch ad; details
Nick Maguire, the Vice President of Global Store Services shared details around new games coming to the PlayStation Plus collection. In a dedicated post on the PlayStation blog, Maguire noted that Sony will launch Middle earth: Shadow of War and Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition on November 3. These two games will be available to all the PlayStation Plus subscribers. A little more than a week after this, the company is bringing the PS5 version of Bugsnax on the service. PS5 buyers can play this game right after they unbox their shiny new console. The announcement also revealed some new details around the PlayStation Plus collection for PS5 buyers. As part of the benefit, PS5 buyers will get a collection of twenty games as part of the subscription.
The collection in question contains Bloodborne, Days Gone, Detroit: Become Human, God of War, and Infamous Second Son. First party studios for the PlayStation will also get access to Ratchet and Clank, The Last Guardian, The Last of Us Remastered, Until Dawn, and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
Third-party titles include Batman: Arkham Knight, Battlefield 1, Call of Duty: Black Ops III – Zombies Chronicles Edition, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Fallout 4, Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition, Monster Hunter: World, Mortal Kombat X, Persona 5, and Resident Evil 7 biohazard. Moving on from the games, the company posted a new global launch advertisement. This ad is likely the part of the partnership between Sony and Travis Scott as Scott sports the hat of a narrator. The one-minute ad is a mashup of many significant achievements (with some pop-culture references hinting at these events) from history. This ad reiterates the focus on the theme of repeatedly pushing past limits.
A new PlayStation App for smartphones
Finally, the company also launched a redesigned and upgraded version of its PlayStation (PS) app. The new app sports a new UI layout along with integrated messages, voice chat, party groups, and more. This app will be available for all the Android and iOS-powered devices running version 6.0 or later and 12.2 or later respectively. Sony will also add “native PlayStation Store” integration into the app. Players can also use the app to remotely launch games, manage storage, or sign into a new console. Last but not least, the app will also provide quick access to PlayStation blog posts to keep the users updated.
