In the interview with Wired, Ryan went on to add, “We see production ramping up over the summer and certainly into the second half of the year, and we would hope to see some sort of return to normality in terms of the balance between supply and demand during that period.” Regardless of the supply shortage, the latest-gen console lineup has managed to match and even beat its predecessor in terms of both sales as well as demand. As reported previously, Sony sold about 7.8 million units by the end of March. Sony also revealed that PS5 owners spend “81 percent more time” playing games and consuming content than PS4 owners back in 2013-14.
