Mortal Kombat 12 is coming this year- confirms Warner Bros. Discovery executive president
In what was probably a leak, due to the lack of posters, and trailers, Mortal Kombat 12 has been confirmed by Warner Bros. Discovery. Here's everything latest on Mortal Kombat 12 and Warner Bros. Games.
Mortal Kombat 12 is confirmed for this year. After years of dodging questions and rumors, Warner Bros. made the announcement unceremoniously during its quarterly earnings call. Here’s more on these developments.
Mortal Kombat 12 confirmed
Shortly after celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the franchise last year, Warner Bros. has confirmed that Mortal Kombat 12 is coming. The news was shared at Warner Bros. Discovery’s Quarter 4 earnings call, a recording of which can now be found online.
“And there’s lots more to come including the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat 12 and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League games also set for release this year with ambitious launch projections”- says Andrew Slabin, an executive vice president at Warner Bros. Discovery.

Other Details
Not a lot of information is available on Mortal Kombat 12 at the moment. Earlier NetherRealm creative director Ed Boon had confirmed that the studio was working on another game. After the announcement at the earnings call, Boon took to Twitter to post “So who has heard the news about INJUSTICE 3?”. It is probable that Boon was only taking a jibe, at what was a “leak”, and not an announcement.

Additionally, Andrew Bowen, the voice of Johnny Cage was rumored to be teasing Mortal Kombat 12 last year. He shared a clip of him working in the Warner Bros with emojis that he typically uses for Mortal Kombat.

Regardless, we can still hope for a grand announcement on Mortal Kombat 12 soon, but the where and when remain questions. Some are speculating a reveal at the E3 2023, to be held in June. With the confirmation of Mortal Kombat 12, we have a number of fighting games now slated for release this year, including Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8.
