So, if you want to get a Deadlock playtest invite.
Where to Get an Invite to the Deadlock Playtest
The best way to get a Deadlock playtest invite is from Valve itself. However, official Deadlock invites from Valve are few and far between as the company is only offering these to streamers and a limited number of people. Alternatively, you can find a Deadlock playtester and ask them to invite you.
Follow the steps below to do so:
- Find a Deadlock Playtester
- To get a Deadlock playtest invite, you’ll need to find someone who already has access to the game. Although Valve started with limited invites, plenty of players have access to the game with over 80k concurrent players on SteamDB records. Luckily this means you won’t find it hard to find someone who has access to the game.
- So to start, check out X threads or Reddit discussions to find players who can invite you to the game by adding you as a friend on Steam. The best place to find such players is the Deadlock subreddit. However, be wary of scammers or suspicious links. You can easily spot a genuine invite via a Steam profile link or friend code. Once you’ve added a friend who already has Deadlock access, proceed to the next step.
- Have your friend invite you from inside Deadlock
Note: Invitations can take over an hour and may even take up to 1-2 days. If you’ve already invited a friend, be patient.
Once your friend adds you to the game, this step is for them. To invite someone to a Deadlock playtest, follow the steps below:
• First, open Deadlock and select the Invite Your Friends option from the bottom right.
• Click on the friend’s profile from the pop-up and invite them.
• Now, wait for at least 30-60 minutes and the invitee will receive an email from Steam.
• Look for the invitation from the mail, accept the playtest and install Deadlock.
And that’s it! You know how to get a Deadlock playtest invite. So now it’s time to go looking for players who have the game!
