Forza Motorsport has been delayed and will not release before Q3, claims new report
Also, Forza Motorsport support page got recently updated and it confirms that the game will also be playable on Xbox One but as a cloud version.
Microsoft has reportedly delayed the Forza Motorsport release date. Forza Motorsport release window was announced for the spring of 2023 back in June by Xbox. Most recently, Xbox and Bethesda Developer_Direct showcase this month revealed that the game would still be released in 2023.
While the developer showcase revealed the release dates for Redfall and Minecraft Legends, the absence of a concrete release date for Forza Motorsport have led to speculations that the release date has been delayed.
Forza Motorsport reportedly releasing in Q3 or "even a little bit later"
Forza Motorsport was said to arrive in the first half of the year, so the lack of a release date at Xbox’s first-party showcase does add weight to the speculation.
Giant Bomb reporter Jeff Grubb, known for providing accurate information on Xbox, said the game has been delayed and will now be released in the second half of the year.
“What I’m hearing—I’m feeling pretty good about this after asking around a couple of times after hearing about it the first time earlier today—it does seem like Forza is going to slip later into the year and probably won’t be the first half of the year,” said Jeff Grubb on Thursday.
He added: “The timeframe I’m hearing for Forza is like Q3, and maybe even a little bit later than that.”
Xbox and Bethesda Developer_Direct showcase revealed that Minecraft Legends will release on April 18. Redfall will release on May 2. Bethesda’s Starfall will be arriving in the first half of 2023 but Xbox said they’ll be hosting a standalone event for their AAA game.
Forza Motorsport on Xbox One through cloud
Forza Motorsport support page got recently updated and it confirms that the game will also be playable on Xbox One but as a cloud version. “Forza Motorsport has been built from the ground up to leverage the full power and performance of Xbox Series X/S consoles and deliver our most beautiful, technically advanced game yet," reads the support page.
“While there will not be a native Xbox One version of the game, Xbox One players can stream Forza Motorsport through Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.”
