Valorant New Map: Here's everything we know so far
On August 29, 2023, as Episode 7 Act 2 unfolds on the Valorant servers, the inclusion of the new map, Sunset, will also grace the game. This fresh Act introduction comes accompanied by an array of additional content in the form of a new battle pass. Differing from certain other maps in Valorant, Sunset adopts a more conventional layout. In contrast to layouts like Lotus and Haven, Sunset will host merely two spike sites. Nevertheless, the map will encompass three distinct lanes where players can engage in combat. Crafted with a deliberate focus on mid-control, the novel Valorant Arena boasts multiple cover boxes that cater to both attackers and defenders.
Joe Lansford, Valorant's Lead Map Designer, said
, "Sunset spotlights a midsection that presents a notable challenge in terms of control, remaining impartial to either team; it proves advantageous for rifle engagements and opens the door to various prospects for the team that manages to seize it. We anticipate both sides incorporating mid-control as a pivotal component of their Sunset strategy," as communicated in a press release.
Talking about the sites in the brand new Sunset map, based on the details provided by ValorLeaks and Riot Games' official map trailer, it's apparent that Sunset will incorporate two sites. Furthermore, the map won't incorporate unique gameplay elements such as teleporters or one-way zip lines.
