Square Enix Presents Spring 2021: Announcements include Forspoken, Life is Strange: True Colors, and more

Japanese video game holding company Square Enix recently organized its “Square Enix Presents Spring 2021” event. As part of the event, the company showcased all the games that it is working on right now. In addition, the company also made several announcements regarding these upcoming titles and updates. Besides, the company also noted that it is planning yet another event for the Summer season. Square Enix noted that the next event is just “right around the corner”. Square Enix Presents Spring 2021 announcements
The highlight of the event is likely the new information around the mysterious Project Athia. As per the formal announcement, the company will call this game “Forspoken”. Game developer Luminous Productions is currently working towards a PS5 and PC launch for the game in 2022. The company also shared a teaser for the game showcasing the protagonist of the game, “Frey Hollands”. Moving on, the company also announced that Black Panther is set to land in Marvel's Avengers game later in the year. The publisher will also release a new expansion called “War for Wakanda” along with the character.
It also shared the new look of Hawkeye along with the 2021 roadmap for Marvel's Avengers. This includes new gear, a level cap, Cloning Labs, Tachyon Anomaly event, new villain sectors, and the ability to replay the campaign mode. The third significant announcement from the presentation is the information on the next title in the “Life is Strange” series. The company shared a trailer and launch date for the upcoming video game title “Life is Strange: True Colors”. This title introduces Alex Chen, the protagonist of the game with the psychic power of Empathy. The game is set to release on September 10, 2021.
Square Enix also revealed that it is also working on “Life is Strange Remastered Collection”. This will include Life is Strange, and Life is Strange: Before the Storm and will launch in September 2021. The company will also bundle the remastered versions of the game in the Life is Strange: True Colors Ultimate Edition. We also got a new six-minute-long deep-dive for Outriders along with a new gameplay trailer. Other announcements include Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy, The Croft Manor in the Fortnite creative mode, and a Tomb Raider cookbook to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the franchise.
New Square Enix smartphone mobile games and more
The video game giant also shared a new trailer for Just Cause Mobile, an upcoming smartphone game set to release later this year. It also announced Project Hitman Sniper Assassins, a new smartphone game set in the Hitman world. Square Enix noted that the game will feature new assassins and outlines a new, original story. The game is set to release this year on Android and iOS. Square Enix Presents event also teased a new AR Space Invaders in association with Taito Corp.
In addition to these three smartphone titles, the company also shared a new co-op trailer for Balan Wonderworld. This new trailer comes just days before the launch of the game. The company also announced that Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron Is Back is coming on PC through Steam. Sony PS4 and Nintendo Switch users will also get Darius Cozmic Revelation later this year. This game collection includes G-Darius HD and Dariusburst: Another Chronicle EX+. The announcements conclude with new content for the Nintendo Switch title, Touhou Spell Bubble. This will include the Side Story Pack 2 Sanae Arc and it is scheduled to release on March 25, 2021.
