Riot Games focuses on expanding its League of Legends presence in India
This move reinforces Riot Games’ commitment to the Indian gaming market further to popular demand for the game from Indian fans
Riot Games today announced a renewed focus on serving the local community for its popular team-based strategy game, League of Legends (LoL), in India.
In 2024, League of Legends fans in India can expect a wide range of exciting opportunities, initiatives and experiences. Riot Games plans to engage with the community through content creator collaborations, original localized content, influencer-driven open tournaments, and show matches, along with multiple community tournaments, high-level discord activations, and official swag and item giveaways on the official LoL IN/SA discord. These initiatives aim to foster a stronger connection between the game and its South Asian player base, providing a more immersive and enjoyable experience for fans.

Riot Games, in association with The Esports Club, is thrilled to announce the first of many community cups powered by Zotac Gaming, a new LoL open-for-all tournament series. Season 1 kicks off on July 11th, 2024, with subsequent seasons to follow till December. In addition, The Esports Club Streamer Clash will feature some of India's top content creators, streamers, and players from the region battling it out for exciting prizes and bragging rights.
Moreover, LoL recently announced their global summer event, Anima Squad, will return with a new game mode, Swarm, on July 17. Anima Squad reimagines the classic "League of Legends" champions as cybernetic, animal-themed, super-powered warriors standing together against the civilization-ending invasion of the abyssal Primordians. The final chapter of Arcane, the animated series from the world of League of Legends, is also arriving on Netflix in November 2024.
