Krafton, the South Korean video game company behind PUBG Corp has just shared some crucial information about PUBG. According to the announcement, Krafton has just teamed up with Microsoft to choose Azure as the global host. The company will use the cloud platform to host its products across multiple platforms including PUBG for PC and consoles. In addition, more information has just surfaced online reaffirming the rumors about an upcoming relaunch of PUBG Mobile in India. A report on the internet indicated that the company is currently shooting an advertisement for the launch. It also noted that Krafton may make a PUBG Mobile-related announcement on November 12. Krafton and Microsoft team up to host the PUBG franchise and more
The company noted that it is working with Microsoft “to ensure personal data protection”. Krafton re-iterated that it considers privacy and data protection as the top priority. Microsoft Azure will offer “state-of-the-art personal data protection” with enhanced compliance. The announcement repeated Kraftons focus on data privacy, laws, and regulation. Given the language of the announcement, it is possible that the company may be working on a re-launch in India. We have already seen some information and hints around the re-launch two months after the ban. Krafton also revealed that it will reinforce the Azure data protection measures with a verification process. This will ensure that the stored data “follows all appropriate requirements” according to the country where the server is located.
PUBG Mobile re-launch ad in works
Hours after the Krafton announcement, a new report from AFK Gaming made its way online with some more information. The report highlighted that PUBG Corp is working on a re-launch advertisement. The company is expected to make the re-launch announcement on November 12, 2020, along with the advertisement. This will feature known eSports players including Dynamo, Kronten, and more. Beyond the eSports professionals, the ad will also likely star a Bollywood star.
Beyond the rumored re-launch several eSports personalities have also hinted at some sort of possible re-launch and unban. The report outlined some hints from Kronten, Ocean Sharma, and Ghatak. Leading up to this possible announcement, the company was in talks with Reliance Jio and Airtel to bring back the game. Ocean Sharma shared a tweet hinting that Microsoft may be the face of the game in India. India Today Gaming has reached out to Krafton and Microsoft for statements and more information.
