PUBG Mobile India re-launch uncertain, details
The announcement of the return of the game was not unprecedented as several reports hinted at its past efforts. However, it did not include any concrete information about government approval regarding the return. Now, a new report outlined that the re-launch has not been greenlit by the government of India. In addition, it also hinted at how difficult it will be for Krafton to get the necessary approvals. According to a report from Times of India, government sources note that the establishment “remained unfazed”. The sources want on to state, “Unless they address the concerns, it will be difficult to grant any relaxation.” Considering this, we think that Krafton was either in the process of talks or hoped that the announcement would make things easy.
Right around the time of this report, PUBG Corp also shared the first teaser regarding the return of the game. The company posted the first video teaser hinting at the launch of the game on the official YouTube channel of PUBG Mobile India. The 24-second video clip showcases four teasers while noting that the game was “COMING SOON”.
The teaser stars popular PUBG Mobile streamers including Dynamo, Jonathan, and Kronten. This video teaser is likely the same advertisement that the company was working on right before the announcement. Finally, a pre-registration page for the game appeared on the third-party app store Tap Tap. This page showcased the “Pre-register” option for both Android as well as iOS users. A report from TalkeSports highlighted this listing along with the possibility that it may be a fake.
