PUBG Studio, the Krafton subsidiary responsible for the popular Battle Royale smartphone game PUBG Mobile is working to bring back the game to India. The company has already shared crucial information around its plans to bring back the game to India. As per the past reports, this includes a special version crafted for the Indian market called PUBG Mobile India. PUBG Studio has also pledged to make a significant investment in India to support and help evolve the eSports ecosystem.

Krafton has already registered the Indian entity of PUBG to kick things off. However, it looks like the Government of India has not given a green flag to the company for the relaunch. According to a report from Indian Express, a PUBG Mobile data mining channel by the name Mad Tamizha spotted the gift crate. The miner noted this crate as part of the changes that will likely come in the Season 17 update. Another YouTuber by the name Spartan Subh checked the original video and located the PUBG Mobile India Welcome pack. Checking the Welcome Gift crate, it appears like the company will offer three different cosmetic elements inside the crate. The report also noted that the data miners spotted this crate in the Global Beta version of the game. It is possible that this crate is part of the beta test on the Global version of the game.

It is possible that the company is running some limited tests behind the scenes. As part of the tests, the company could be testing waters to be prepared for the eventual relaunch of the game. However, we are not sure about the timeline for the re-launch of the game. Past reports stated that Krafton rushed the announcement to gain some brownie points with its fans. However, this rush is working against the company now. It is also likely that the company may offer multiple rewards and gifts beyond this single crate to players returning to PUBG Mobile India to boost engagement.
