Danish video game developer and publisher IO Interactive has just shared the latest information about its upcoming title, Hitman 3. Inspecting the details, the company outlined the storage requirements of the game. Hitman 3 is the final part of the trilogy series and it will bring several new locations from across the globe to the game. IO Interactive has already teased some of the levels coming in the game including Dubai, England, and China. Looking back, the company has also shared the opening cinematic trailer of the game along with raytracing, and more. Here is everything new regarding Hitman 3 including the storage space requirements.
Hitman 3 storage requirements out, details
IO Interactive noted that the new game won’t take a significant amount of space on your device. In fact, the company has worked to ensure that all three games occupy just under 100GB of total space. This means that three Hitman games will be less than the storage requirements for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and other recent games. For some context, the Steam installation of Hitman 2 takes about 99GB of storage space on a PC. According to the information available on RestEra game developer noted, “All three games with all content will take up around 100GB”.
We also got some explanation around this significant storage size reduction for the Hitman trilogy. It managed to achieve this with the help of “data management”, “file structures” and the way it delivers the game. All this ensures that the company can remove the duplicate data in the game. Beyond this, IO Interactive is also using “newer and better compression for textures”. All these storage space-saving improvements will be available on PC as well as the gaming consoles. The company has also outlined that players can import the previous two games to Hitman 3. This way, they can make use of all the benefits of innovative improvements including raytracing, better compression, and more.
The upcoming game will also come with game engine improvements that result in better screenspace reflections. This will result in a better, more realistic in-game environment. It is set to launch on January 20, and we have already reported on the differences between different editions. Interested players can head to the video game distribution service or platform of their choice to pre-order the game.
