Forza Motorsport 2023 release date revealed: What to expect

The Forza Motorsport release date is close and it's been a long wait. Expectations are high for the upcoming Forza Motorsport reboot because the last game in the series was released way back in 2017.

After Gran Turismo 7 dominated the console racing scene in 2022, Forza Motorsport appears to be set to have a big year in 2023.

Gameplay demo reveals career mode

Following the announcement of the release date at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023, Turn 10 Studios treated us with an extended gameplay demonstration that concentrated on the career mode.

The career mode in Forza Motorsport is built around three pillars: level, build, and dominate. Open practise, Challenge the Grid, and Feature Race are the three components of each event, which is tailored to various car classes.

We're hoping that Forza Motorsport will restore the sense of progression that has been missing from other career modes in racing games with a levelling-up system for car upgrades. For a fully customizable experience, there are also options to enable or disable penalties, damage, and tyre wear.

However, not all of it is good news. Forza Motorsport's career mode, like GT7, depends on an internet connection to advance. Therefore, you can't play the career mode if the servers are down as Forza's servers aren't always reliable though.

Forza Motorsport release date

Forza Motorsport was teased as being “in early stages of development” in July 2020, and since then everyone has been waiting for 2023.

Late in 2022, a release window for Turn 10 Studios' track racer was given, but it was soon changed to simply 2023. Well, the relaunch of the Xbox-exclusive franchise now has a firm release date.

Turn 10 Studios revealed that Forza Motorsport will debut on October 10, 2023, for Xbox Series X|S and PC during the Xbox Games Showcase. The game will be accessible on Xbox Game Pass from the start, but PC users can also purchase it through Steam.

Early Access

A minimum of one of the multiple editions that most games release includes early access. This pattern will be continued by Turn 10 Studios and Xbox with Forza Motorsport.

The Standard, Deluxe, and Premium editions of Forza Motorsport are available. Pre-ordering the Premium Edition will give you access to Forza Motorsport five days earlier, on October 5, 2023.

Will Xbox One have Forza Motorsport?

To play Forza Motorsport, you will require an Xbox Series S at the very least. You can play Forza Motorsport on that console at 1080p/60fps, but an Xbox Series X is required if you want the full 4k/60fps experience. Sadly, Microsoft's top console won't offer a 120 fps option.

Xbox One owners are also included. Forza Motorsport will be playable on Xbox One, but the Xbox Cloud Gaming beta requires a Game Pass Ultimate subscription in order to stream it.

While PlayStation players will naturally be excluded from this game, Forza Motorsport will be accessible on PC as well.
