Cyberpunk 2077 1.06 update out, details

According to the announcement post, CD Projekt Red brings multiple bug fixes to the game with version 1.06. Talking about the save file corruption bug-fix, it noted that this update “won’t fix files corrupted before the update”. It is worth noting that this update is limited to the PC version of the game. Cyberpunk 2077 was not the first CD Projekt Red video game to face issues around save game files. Looking back, we also saw a similar problem in The Witcher 2 where the size of the save folder increased game load times and corrupted save game files.

Other bug fixes include improvements in memory management and game stability. The company stated that these improvements will result “in fewer crashes” on consoles. It also rolled out a fix for a bug in the in-game quests. Checking the details around the Quest bug-fix, the Cyberpunk 2077 v1.06 update ensures that Dum Dum does not disappear from the Totentanz entrance in the “Second Conflict” arch.

The announcement regarding the v1.06 update comes just hours after CD Projekt Red shared that it has sold “over 13 million” copies of the game. This sales number considers all the refund requests that the company has received across multiple platforms. In addition, this update is part of a continuous effort to improve the game while fixing the bugs. CD Projekt Red has already noted that it is working on “two large patches” for January and February 2021. These patches will try to fix the performance issues reported on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
