Video game developer King has just released its latest smartphone title, Crash Bandicoot: On the Run on Android and iOS. The launch of the game comes months after the company initially announced the title on the global stage. King, an Activision Blizzard subsidiary first announced the title in August 2020 after a surprise soft launch in April 2020. So, interested players can head to Google Play Store or Apple App Store to download the title. King also shared some information around the plot of the store along with a launch trailer. Crash Bandicoot: On the Run launched, details

The game is somewhat like the endless runner that we have seen in Temple Run or Subway Surfers. King stated that Crash and Coco, the protagonists of the Crash Bandicoot franchise will take part in “battle runs”. Players will run, spin, smash through things, and swipe through different segments. Crash and Coco will take on the Dr. Cortex minions and different types of enemies. The smartphone game developer also noted that familiar regions from past games in the franchise including Temple Ruins, Turtle Woods, The Lost City, The Lab, and more. Similar to older titles, Crash Bandicoot: On the Run will also feature secret shortcuts and villains like Dingodile, Nitrus Brio, Scorporilla, and Nina Cortex.

It will also feature the options to upgrade, customize, and even build new in-game items. Other aspects of the game include modes like time trials, base building, the collection runs, and more. The game also brings social features like Teams, Survival Runs, and leader boards. Players can connect with other Crash Bandicoot: On the Run players through in-game chat or compete against each other.

Stephen Jarrett, the Vice President of Game Design at King issued a statement. Jarrett stated, “We’re very excited for players to finally get their hands on Crash Bandicoot: On the Run! It’s been a labor of love for King to bring everybody’s favorite marsupial to mobile in a way that is unique and fresh while honoring more than 25 years of rich history with the beloved character.”
