Computer hardware giant Asus has just announced the second season of its “Battle of Gods” e-sports tournament. For the second season, Asus has switched from now banned Battle Royale game PUBG Mobile to Call of Duty Mobile. Like the first season, this season will also be limited to Asus ROG Phone users in the market. The company revealed that it will kick-off the tournament from November 6 in a 5v5 format. As part of the reveal, the company also shared additional details around how to register, format, prize pool, and more. Asus ROG 'Battle of Gods' season 2 announced, details
First, up, the company noted that the registrations for the upcoming season are open. Interested competitors can head to the website to register for the tournament. The registrations for the event are set to close on November 4, at 1 PM. The event will kick-off on November 6 and will go on for 12 weeks. Asus has set Rs 7 lakh as the prize pool for the event. As part of the pool, the winner will get Rs 25,000, runner-up Rs 15,000, and third and fourth-best will get Rs 5,000 each.
Players will play Domination, Death Match, and Search and Destroy modes in 5v5 format. As part of the event, every Friday, players will go head-to-head as per the brackets to rise to the top. Asus will stream the weekly finals on its “Asus India” YouTube channel. The finals of the tournament will be live casted by “famed eSports casters in India”. Again, it is worth noting that this is limited to ROG Phone users in India.
Dinesh Sharma, the business head at Commercial PC and Smartphone sub-division in the System Business Group at Asus India issued a statement as part of the announcement. Sharma noted, “The response from the ROG Phone community to the ‘Battle of Gods’ season 1 was tremendous. We are very excited to launch our highly-anticipated community tournament on Call of Duty: Mobile.” This comes days after Asus reduced the prices of its latest Asus ROG Phone II in India. After a Rs 3,000 price cut, the 8GB RAM variant of the device is priced at Rs 46,999, 12GB RAM and 128GB storage variant at Rs 49,999 and 256GB storage variant at Rs 54,999.
